In English, we have the gerund which works by adding -ing. For example, we can turn eat to eating. This allows us to use the verb eat as a noun. In a sentence we use the construction I like [noun] or I like [infinitive]. So, it is acceptable to say both, I like eating and I like to eat. This works for every verb, try it! Korean does something extremely similar. Some constructions in Korean ONLY take nouns, so you can nominalize the verb simply by adding \uae30 to the end of it. For example, \uba39\ub2e4 turns to \uba39\uae30. To say I like to eat or I like eating, you can say, \uba39\uae30\ub97c \uc88b\uc544\ud569\ub2c8\ub2e4. Notice how you can now put \ub97c at the end of \uba39\uae30 as if it were a noun. This is now acceptable because you&#8217;ve turned \uba39\ub2e4 into a noun.\n<\/p>\n<p>Example of constructions that require the verb to be converted to a noun via \uae30:\n<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\uae30 \ub54c\ubb38\uc5d0<\/li>\n<li>\uae30 \uc704\ud574\uc11c<\/li>\n<li>\uae30 \uc88b\ub2e4\/\uae30 \uc88b\uc544\ud558\ub2e4<\/li>\n<li>\uae30 \uc2eb\ub2e4\/\uae30 \uc2eb\uc5b4\ud558\ub2e4<\/li>\n<li>\uae30 (any adjective to describe an action) for example: Reading Korean is easy&#8230; \ud55c\uad6d\ub9d0 \uc77d\uae30 \uc26c\uc6b4\ub370\uc694&#8230;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span class=\"mw-headline\" id=\"Notes\">Notes<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Note that the ending \u3141\/\uc74c also nominalizes verbs (\uc790\ub2e4 to sleep becomes \uc7a0 sleep, \uc2f8\uc6b0\ub2e4 to fight becomes \uc2f8\uc6c0 a fight). They are both acceptable ways of creating nouns from a verbs. Some verbs prefer using \u3141\/\uc74c to \uae30 like \uc790\ub2e4 and \uc2f8\uc6b0\ub2e4 but Koreans are not particular about what you do as long as the construction works.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2><span
